Christian cleans up in Commodore
Cup season opener

Commodore
Cup Round 1 - Wakefield Park
WIN, WIN, WIN !!! And pole position for good
measure !
|
Axent Racing had a mixed weekend of highs and lows at the opening
round of the 2006 Commodore Cup Series at Wakefield Park on March
4 and 5. Christian
D’Agostin won all 3 races comfortably in the #66 Axent VS,
whilst Geoff Fontaine in the #9 car sustained major car damage in
a nasty race #1 accident and took no further part in the meeting
(see separate news item on that). Christian won the round and collected
151 points and leads the series by 19 points.
Congratulations goes to ALL the team and
staff at Axent whom worked tirelessly before the race meeting prepare
both cars and be ready in time for the round. Apart from a few new
engine issues, both cars had reasonable pace and the future events
look good for the Axent Team.
TV coverage of the round will be screened
on SBS (Speedweek) and Foxtel (Inside Speed) in 2 weeks time (exact
details to be provided).
The next round is at Oran Park (NSW) in
early May.
